Date: Wed, 30 Aug 2006 19:56:24 -0700 (PDT) From: Patty Bucaro Subject: Corner Life Chapter 3 Alex walked opened the front door to her house with Daniel in tow. She yelled out to her mom but there wasn't a response. She closed the door and walked into the kitchen and looked around. "There's no yelling or screaming. I don't see anyone here Daniel do you?" "Nope I'll go check upstairs!" She gave a nod and walked around in the kitchen and checked the refrigerator for a note. Sure enough there was a note. Dad is at work and I went over to Sheila's house for the night. She's having family troubles and needs my help sorting through stuff. Please watch Daniel tonight. Love, Mom "She couldn't have picked a better night could she?" Alex let out a loud sigh and dug into her pocket for Jenny's cell phone number. "I'll have to call it off..." Alex thought it over and was starting to get upset. For once something was going right and her mom had to go and screw it up for her. After she got Jenny all happy about doing something tonight she felt bad. It was either bring Daniel or nothing was going to happen tonight so she called Jenny to see what she thought. *RING* *RING* *RING* "H-Hello?" "Hi, its Alex. We have a problem" "Hey Alex! What's the problem?" "My mom ditched for the night and my dad works at night so I have to watch Daniel." "Oh..." Alex suddenly stumbled upon a better idea so they wouldn't have to deal with Daniel. "How about you just come over and we watch a movie here? Come over around 8:30 when Daniel goes to bed and there won't be any problems. My mom isn't coming home tonight so you could probably spend the night if you wanted to." Yes, it sounded perfect to Alex. She waited nervously for Jenny to reply. "Wow, aright, works for me. I have a million movies so say something and I'll tell you if I have it or not." She had no idea what to pick. Not being particular about what movie they watched she said, "Oh anything will be fine, pick anything you'd like." "Aright, so I'll see you around 8:30 9:00 o'clock time okay?" "Yeah that works." "C-yah!" "Bye!" Alex hung up the phone and took a few steps back and took a huge deep breath. "Did I really just invite Jenny over to my house to watch a movie and SPEND THE NIGHT!? I just met her randomly today in the park and I just invited her over to my house. I must be really fucked up!" She walked into her living room and noticed all of Daniel's toys all over the floor and an empty toy box. Starting to freak out she yelled out Daniel's name and waited for him to coming running down the steps. He poked his head around the wall on the stairs and looked in the living room. "Yeah sis?" "This room is a disaster and Jenny is coming over. You need to clean up all your messes before you do anything else." "Oh alright Alex." Daniel finished walking down the stairs and walked over to the music player and turned it on. When he pressed the button Barney music came on and he started to clean up. Alex giggled a little and headed up to her room to clean up as well. Opening her door she walked into a dark room. She walked across her room and pulled open the dark curtains. Instantly light poured into the room and Alex had to shield her eyes. The sun was starting to lower and getting ready to set. She figured it was about 6:30. Looking over at the clock it read 6:50. "Eh, close enough!" She picked up a sock and threw it at the clock. Glancing over her room she decided the real mess was the clothes on the floor. Alex walked over to her closet and searched for the laundry basket she rarely used. To her benefit it was empty. She put some music on and started dancing around while throwing clothes into the basket. In no time at all her room was near clean. A few dishes and she'd be done. She balanced the few dishes into one stack and slid in her socks across her wood floor to her bedroom door. Switching the dishes to one arm carefully she turned the door knob and held the dishes securely in her hand. "Close one" Walking gently down the stairs Alex peered into the living room and found it spotless. Not only did Daniel clean up his mess but also tidied up the living room very nicely. "Great job Daniel!" She would've hugged him but she had the dishes. "Yeah, well, I really like Jenny so..." He blushed a little and fixed a few pillows on the comfy couch. "Keep up with the good work little guy." While placing the dishes in the dish washer she heard her stomach growl and forgot that she hadn't eaten since breakfast. She had no idea what to make for dinner though. There wasn't much of a choice for her to choose from. She decided it felt like a Mac&Cheese night. Alex turned the hot water on and while she let it run grabbed out a box of Mac&Cheese and a pot. While filling the pot with water Daniel walked in and saw the box. He screamed and giggled with glee. There was no doubt that this was his favorite meal. "Are you done cleaning everything up?" "Yup yup! When's Jenny coming over?" "Around 8:30." "Oh! That's when I go to bed though! That's not fair!" "I'm sorry Daniel, I'll let you stay up long enough to say hi but then you have to go to bed." "Thank you!!!" With that said Daniel gave his sister the biggest hug ever and went to getting the forks out. He couldn't get the bowls or cups because they were too high. Alex grabbed them down and set them on the counter for him to set the table with. After everything was set Daniel sat at the table and eagerly waited for his food. *RING* "I'll get it!" "Oh no you won't!" Alex beat Daniel to the phone and stuck her tongue out at him. He angrily stuck his back out at her. *RING* "Hello?" "Hey, its me Jenny." "Hey!" "Is it ok I come over a little earlier? Like in about 15 minutes? My parents decided since I'm not going to be home tonight to go out to a movie and everything and they're weird about me being home alone, they think I'll throw a party or something." "Uh...sure. I'm making Mac&Cheese do you want me to make enough for you?" "Oh that'd be awesome! I love that stuff! So, I'll see you in a few?" "Hah, I guess. C-yah." "Bye." "Well I know who is going to be a very happy little boy. Guess who is coming over in a few minutes?" "Jenny!?" "Yup!" Alex turned away from her brother because the hugest smile came across her face that she couldn't get to go away. She blushed a little as she walked over and grabbed another box and waited for the water to boil. I can't believe Jenny is coming over to my house in a few minutes. I have no idea how any of this is going to go. By the time she gets here it'll be 7:30, which means an hour to kill until we can get rid of Daniel. Eating will probably take about 20 minutes. Meaning close to a half hour of nothing time until movie or what ever we're going to do. Judging by how Daniel is acting he's going to be all over her. So I guess he'll take up the half hour with what ever he has planned. Alex glanced over at her brother and noticed how excited he was. The huge smile gave it all away. Instead of sitting at the table like he normally did before food he was running up the stairs and around in his room. She could hear him downstairs. The water began to boil violently. Alex ripped off the box tops and poured in the macaroni. She quickly grabbed a wooden spoon and stirred so they wouldn't stick to the bottom of the pot. Reaching over the stove she turned it down and gave it one last stir. Alex gave the house one last quick once over and as soon as she was back in the kitchen stirring again she heard the door bell ring. "I'LL GET IT!" Daniel yelled and thundered down the stairs to the door. In came Jenny with a backpack and her messenger bag. "Well hello there Daniel." Jenny lied her stuff down in the small foyer and gave Daniel a hug. "Hi Jenny!" "Where's your sister?" Alex poked her head around the corner and blushed at the sight of Jenny. "Um, right here. You two ready to eat." "I am!" Daniel exclaimed as he rushed over to the table. Jenny smiled at Daniel's eagerness, "Me too." Alex lead Jenny through the hall way into the dining kitchen area. Alex watched as Daniel did the cutest thing ever. He pulled out a chair for Jenny to sit in. Jenny giggled again, "Why thank you Daniel." He had the hugest grin on his face along with the hugest blush. Alex served everyone and sat down finally and started to eat. Daniel had his food down in no time and was urging Jenny to hurry up. "Daniel instead of hurrying Jenny up why don't you put your dish in the sink and go upstairs and draw a picture for Jenny." "Okay!" With that said he ran upstairs as fast as he could. Everything went silent as they ate. Each not knowing what to say so they just focused on their food. Alex stole a few glances at Jenny and took in each detail slowly. She loved how one side of Jenny's short hair slid and curled around her ear while the other side hung freely. She looked at her hands and noticed they were a little lighter than her arms. She figured it was because she wore gloves while playing lacrosse. Her skin had a very light tan that looked very nice on her. Alex was glad she didn't go tanning like the rest of the girls did. She found those girls looked orange and ugly, definitely unattractive. Also Jenny didn't wear make-up. Maybe a little bit of eye liner and a tad bit of lip gloss. Otherwise there wasn't anything and it added to her attractiveness. Alex then realized she was out of food. She looked up at Jenny again and noticed she was too. Alex stood up and grabbed her dish and Jenny's and brought it over to the sink. "You didn't have to do that, I could've myself." "It's okay. So what do you want to do now?" Alex asked still facing away from Jenny. She was so nervous she couldn't even look at her when she spoke. "What ever you'd like to do. I brought a bunch of movies, but I hate watching movies when it's still light out." "Well, lets bring your stuff up to my room and check to see how Daniel's drawing is going." "Okay that works for me. Is he a good artist?" "For his age yeah, compared to you no. Did you bring your sketch book?" "I always bring it everywhere with me. I never know when an idea will pop into my head or when I'll get bored or something. I love to draw especially in the park." Jenny walked over to her stuff. She slide her messenger bag over her shoulder and grabbed for her backpack. Alex headed up the stairs and turned down the hallway and into her bedroom. Jenny followed close behind and stepped into Alex's bedroom. "Wow I love the color and all the posters. My room looks so boring compared to yours." Blushing a little Alex gestured where Jenny could put her stuff and took a seat on her bed, "Yeah, I like it, thanks." "Your welcome. Now where is Daniel's room I'd like to see how his drawing is coming along." "Oh, follow me. I'm curious too." Alex lead her down the narrow hallway and into Daniel's green room. The room was fairly small with a car bed. He had his walls green and a car boarder. On his shelves he had dinosaurs and his favorite race cars. On the wall across from his bed he had a cork board square where Alex posted up his current drawings. When she had to take a drawing down to make room she'd put it in a folder. Of course he had a small dresser for clothes and a closet. He had a small desk where his music player was and where he drew his drawings. Special containers separated his pencils, markers and crayons. This is where they found him. Alex peered over his shoulder, "So how's it comin'?" Daniel let out a small scream and started to catch his breath, "Way to scare me sis! I didn't even hear you come in!" "Is it done?" Jenny inquired. "Not yet! Five more minutes!" "Okay we'll wait." Jenny said this as she walked over to where all his drawings were posted. "Wow, you are really good Daniel." He couldn't help but blush. "Uh, thanks...I'm not as good as you though." "Just keep up with it and you will be." Alex sat down on his bed and continued to watch him draw. She noticed it was of obviously him Alex and Jenny. He was in the middle of the two and they were all holding hands. There was a big yellow sun with orange rays and an orange smiley face, also a few blue clouds in the sky. There were green grass and a tree. He was working on blue flowers around the tree. Even though the people were blocky and the tree was a lollipop his drawing was very good. He incorporated his favorite feature of Jenny and that was her green eyes. She looked over at Jenny who was intently looking at his drawings. She really was surprised that for a 6 year old, he put more effort in than a middle schoolar. Most people are happy with stick figures. Alex couldn't help but notice Jenny's athletic build. She knew she was on the lacrosse team. She never went to any of the games not only because she had no idea when they were but because she never had anyone to go with. She liked sports, actually she was amazed by how someone could have that much heart in it. Her favorite sport to watch was soccer. Diane was never interested in sports so they never went. Alex always secretly wanted to go and watch but was too scared. She read about the sport of Lacrosse so she knew the basic concept. Maybe she'd be able to go to one of Jenny's games and watch her in action. "IT'S DONE!" Daniel yelled in excitement. He pushed himself away from the desk and rushed over to Jenny to show her. "It's awesome Daniel!" Jenny held the picture and noticed how much in detail he went into. He got her short blonde hair and the way he drew Alex's long brown curls were so adorable. "Oh I love it!" Daniel blushed so hard and said, "Well...I want you to...have it." Jenny was surprised and knelt down. "I'll save it forever." She gave him a huge hug and a tight squeeze. Alex giggled at the scene. "Okay that's enough you two. Jeez, I thought I was watching a scene from a soap opera for a second." Alex let out another laugh. "So do you want a folder to put that in?" Jenny stood up and patted Daniel on the head. "Yeah that'd be great." Alex walked over to Daniel's desk and opened one of the drawers that held the folders. "Any particular color?" "Do you have green?" Alex grabbed the green folder out the middle of the pile and tossed it over to Jenny who caught it swiftly with one hand like a Frisbee. "Thanks." "No problem." Alex glanced over at the clock and noticed it was 8:20. Time for Daniel to start getting ready for bed. "Sorry Daniel but guess what time it is." Daniel got a sad look on his face and slowly walked over to his dresser and grabbed out his pajamas. "Do I have to sis?" "Sorry but you do." Jenny felt bad for the kid so she spoke up to hopefully cheer him up a bit, "Don't worry kid I'll see yah in the morning. Okay?" "Alright." With that Daniel continued his sulking walk as he went into the bathroom to go for the night and to brush his teeth. Jenny and Alex left his bedroom and went into Alex's. "So should I grab a movie?" "Yeah. Where do you want to watch it? We can watch it in here, the living room or the play room." "Where's more comfortable?" "Probably the play room. The couch in there is awesome. I'll make popcorn?" "That works. Um, where is the play room?" "I'll lead you there. It's on the way to the kitchen." "Cool. I'll grab all the movies and bring them down." Alex nodded and started to head out of her room but then remembered it'd probably be more comfortable to be in pajamas and to get out of these clothes. As if Jenny read her mind she noticed Jenny pulling out clothes of her bag. "I'm just gonna go change in your bathroom before we head down is that okay?" "Yeah, me too." Alex walked over to her dresser where her pajamas were and she couldn't help but feel that tonight was either going to be what she has been waiting for or everything is going to crash and burn. ******************************************************************** As Jenny walked in the hallway she passed Daniel's room. She quickly peeked in and found him asleep. She then continued to the bathroom to change and brush her teeth. As Jenny squirted the tooth paste onto her brush and started she couldn't help but think about how Alex would look in her pajamas. She also couldn't help but think about laying close to Alex as they watched the movie. Just looking at her gave her the chills, never mind rubbing skin against skin. Brushing her arm against her arm. Jenny made a point to picking out romance movies. Not only were they her favorite but she also didn't find it romantic to watch Blood Sport with the girl she liked. When she finished brushing her teeth she quickly slipped out and into clothes. She contemplated for a half second whether or not she should wear a bra and decided against it. She liked her small C cup breasts. They had a nice weight to them and were firm but also not too firm. All the boys she ever dated liked them. Once dressed she ran her hands under the water and gave her face a light splash and ran her fingers through her hair. She was done. She gathered her clothes up and headed back to Alex's room. Jenny quietly tip-toed through the hall way and slowly opened Alex's bedroom door. She saw Alex just pulling her shirt over her head and down from behind. She looked her up and down and took in her rolled up shorts and loose t-shirt. Alex also had her hair tied behind loosely. She really did have lovely curly hair. Jenny hoped she'd never get it straightened. "I'm ready when you are." Jenny said as she went over and gathered the tapes in her arms. Alex jumped a little not realizing she was there and replied, "Yup I'm ready. I already brushed my teeth in my parents bathroom." Jenny gave her a nod and waited for Alex to head out the door because she had no idea where she was going. A lot of people talked about and gossiped on how Alex never dressed in designer clothes or never straightened her hair. Everyone thought she wasn't rich or well off. It was the opposite though. Alex's house was a decent size and designed well. Her room was probably about the same size as hers. Jenny figured Alex just didn't feel the need to pamper herself in the best though it appeared she could do so. Also it seemed Daniel had all the toys he could ever want. Jenny just couldn't figure out why Alex was the way she was. While being lead through the house they passed through a living room that looked really nice with a fire place and . Then Alex stopped at a door. She waited for Jenny to pass it so she could open it. When opened Jenny realized it lead to a stair case going down. "The play room is the basement. I hang out there more than I do in my room. If you want you can turn on the computer and get online. I'll be a few okay?" "Sure. I'll get everything set up." Alex turned away and Jenny took the cue to head down the stairs. She couldn't close the door though because she had all the DVDs and tapes in her arms. Jenny walked down the wooden steps and turned right into a huge room. It was their entire basement finished and transferred into a play room. The one half looked like Daniel's and the other half looked like Alex's. A paper wall divider that folded up like an accordion separated the two halves when necessary. Alex's side had the computer and big screen plasma television with the huge couch on her side. Jenny also noticed on one of the walls were print outs of bands all pinned up. Also things such as photographs, posters, drawings, and drying/dried flowers. Jenny walked over to her lap top and flipped it open. It was a really nice Dell computer. The whole Alex stereo type everyone put on her really wasn't holding up anymore. The computer loaded up quickly. She clicked the explorer short cut and went to check her e-mail. Nothing but junk and porn. "Oh I see you like to look at porn." Jenny almost jumped out of her skin as she heard Alex's voice and felt her hot breath on her ear and neck. "HOLY SHIT ALEX! Fuck, scare the shit outa me. And no I don't look at porn. Notice how I'm deleting it." "Oh I'm sure you delete it every time." Alex gave her a wink and walked over to the couch. Jenny quickly shut the computer down and shut the screen down. "That's a really nice computer. Mines actually the same model. Oh and you never told me you drew!" Jenny sat on the couch next to her and waited for her response. "Oh I didn't? Yeah I take art. That's why I was asking if you did or not because you weren't in my class period. Honestly I don't know any of the classes I have with you." "Oh well you have History with me, Math, and Lunch." Alex gave out a little chuckle, "Glad you got it down." Jenny immediately blushed 7 shades of red. She had to turn away. It just came out right off her tongue she didn't realize how stalker like it sounded before she said it. Jenny mumbled a quiet sorry. "It's alright. So what movie are we watching?" "Well I brought Sweet November, Moonstruck, Pretty Woman, Love and Basketball, and Bed of Roses. Anything in particular you'd like to watch." "Oh I love Moonstruck! Such a wonderful movie." Jenny was happy she picked that one because she loved it also, "Moon struck it is." Jenny looked around for something to pop the tape into but didn't find anything. Alex noticed her confusion, "Here I got it." Alex walked over to a cabinet and popped the tape in. She grabbed the remote and turned the lights off. While Alex was up Jenny moved as close as she could to Alex's seat without her noticing. The movie started and Jenny was actually getting into it a little easier than she thought she would. Although, she was still aware of the gorgeous girl next to her. Every so often Jenny would adjust in her seat a little just so she could have an excuse to steal a look at Alex. Suddenly Jenny felt cold and didn't know what to do. She didn't see a blanket around. She hadn't looked over at Alex in awhile and when she did she had a blanket on up to her chin. Alex must've been freezing too. Jenny whispered softly, "Mind if I get under there with you." Alex just shook her head lightly indicating it would be ok. Flipping open the one end Jenny moved closer and got under. "Oh my god your freezing!!!" "Sorry..." Alex took Jenny's hands in hers to help warm them up. She couldn't help but blush at the action and cuddle a little bit closer. Jenny wanted to wrap her whole body around Alex's warmth but she decided that being this close was nice enough. They both turned their attention back to the movie, it was starting to get towards the end. They both knew what happened but were still engrossed in waiting for what would happen next. After the movie ended they both realized how close they were together. Jenny blushed and got out from under the blanket. Alex reached for the remote and turned the lights up. "So...what do you want to do now?" Jenny asked while bringing her knees up to her chest. She was freezing not being under the blanket. "It's warmer up in my room so why don't we start with going up there and then decide." "Woh, um, I really need to go to the bathroom." "There's one down here." Alex pointed over to the door and Jenny immediately shot up and ran to the bathroom. As soon as she made it into the bathroom she relaxed. All her nerves were on freak out mode because she didn't realize how close she was to Alex during the movie. Then she remembered she actually had to use the bathroom. Sitting down she pondered over a few things. Okay if I can barely handle sitting close to her during a movie without freaking out how am I suppose to sleep next to her in the same bed. I can still smell her sweet vanilla scent from her skin and her peach scent from her hair. When she held my hands they were so soft and so warm, it a few short seconds I was already warming with her touch. Then some how we ended up with her head on my shoulder and one of my legs over hers and still holding hands. It was as if our bodies were on auto mode during the last half hour of the movie. How could I not know what I was doing. Jenny slapped herself in the forehead consistently and finished relieving herself. Lifting her pajama bottoms back up she then walked over to the sink and gave her hands a quick wash. She looked up at her face and told herself, "Just keep it together, we're just barely friends. Don't scare her off." With that said she gave her cheeks a quick pat and walked out the door. Walking over to the couch she found Alex curled up. Almost as if she was sleeping but Jenny wasn't in there that long for it to happen. Jenny gave her watch a quick glance and realized it was almost 11. "I guess she's not use to staying up late." "I'll have you know I stay up till at least 1 am every day." Alex opened her eyes and looked right at Jenny. "Oops, thought you were asleep." Jenny chuckled and blushed at being caught. "You wanna stay down here or go upstairs." "I'm not particular but if we're staying down here I need under that blanket. It's freezing!" Jenny wanted so much to be back under that blanket and close to Alex once again but Alex disappointed her and said, "Lets head upstairs, it's warmer." Access denied. "Works for me." Jenny extended her hand to Alex to help her up. When Alex placed her hand in Jenny's she couldn't help but enjoy the softness of her hand again. She wanted to lace her fingers in with Alex's and never let go. "Um, you gonna let go?" "Huh?" Jenny looked down at her hand and realized she didn't let go. "Oops, sorry." "No problem. Lets head up." As Jenny trudged behind her once again questions of paranoia started popping in her head. `What if she hates me now because of what happened while we were watching the movie?' `Is she not going to let me sleep here again?' I can't believe I just ruined everything! Crap! "Jenny did you hear me?" "Huh?" "I guess not. Do you want to sleep in my bed with me or do you want to sleep somewhere else? My bed is plenty big enough for both of us." I guess I didn't freak her out as much as I thought I did if she's inviting me to sleep in the same bed. Yes!!! I'd love to sleep in the same bed as you Alex! I think she might find that a little strong though. "Sure. You're bed is fine." "Alright, cool." Alex opened her door and flipped the light switch on. She continued to walk over to her bed and then flopped her body onto it. She waved for Jenny to come over. Jenny walked over and sat on the bed and watched at Alex. She had her eyes closed and looked absolutely beautiful. When she spoke it surprised her. "So are you enjoying your stay?" "Hah, you sound like a hotel clerk. But yeah, it's cool here." "You know when I found out my mom ditched I was really pissed and scared that you wouldn't want to come over or anything. I'm really glad you did. I haven't had a friend over in a really long time." "Aw man don't get all sappy on me! But I'm here to come over when ever you want me to." Jenny grabbed one of Alex's pillows and threw it at her. "CRAP!!! OH YOUR SO DEAD!" Alex shot her eyes at Jenny and gripped the pillow in her hands. Jenny armed herself with another pillow and prepared for battle. Sitting up on her knees Jenny held the pillow and waiting for Alex's next move. Alex sat up on her knees pillow ready to go. Jenny took a swing at Alex in the body but Alex dodged and hit Jenny in the head which caused her to fall onto Alex with a squeal. Jenny blushed profusely when she found out that she was on top of Alex. She propped herself up onto her hands and looked down at Alex who was looking up at her. Jenny blushed again and pushed herself up and all the way off of her. "I'm sorry..." Alex couldn't help but laugh, "It's okay, I hit you." Jenny felt her head give a slight pulse. "Yeah I can feel it." "Oh! Are you okay?" Looking up at Alex she just gave her a nod and lied back on the bed. "Okay so no more pillow fights tonight." "How about never. I'm not good at them. Seems like you've had practice though." "Yeah, Daniel likes to." "Damn, I hope you don't hit him as hard as you do me." "Hah, no I don't." Alex grabbed a pillow and sat it on Jenny's stomach. She grabbed one for herself and put it at the head of the bed and then lied down. Jenny watched her as she did this and was glad she put her pillow right next to her. She put the pillow she was given under her head and asked Alex a question. "So do you like sitting by yourself at lunch and in the morning?" "I'm not sure. I don't mind but I guess not really." "Why don't you sit with anyone?" Jenny listened as Alex breathed in and breathed out. She figured she was giving it thought. "I guess I just don't have anything in common with anyone. Plus being alone gives me a chance to get everything school wise done. I want to get out of this town and go somewhere and getting decent grades in school will help me get out. Wow, I sound so stupid when I say that." "You don't sound stupid. At least you have a clue what you want in life. That's more than probably half the people in our grade know. Trust me I'm on that side more than I'd like to be. They're all about parties and drugs. They could care less about anything in the future." "Do you know what you want to do with your life." "I want to play lacrosse in college. I'm sick of this town too. I like kids. So I do want kids. I may teach. I haven't a clue." Jenny covered her hands with her face and let out a long breath, "I'm so friggin' dumb" "It's okay and no you're not dumb. I'm not sure about exactly what I'd like to do either. All I know is as soon as I get out of college and everything I'm taking Daniel with me. To get away. That's what I'm really afraid of is leaving him behind." "Why don't you want to leave him behind?" Jenny could sense Alex quietness and wondered if she should back off or not but then Alex started up. "Well, it's a long story. This place just isn't the best. Under all the expensive wallpaper these walls are sad. All that they've heard and saw. You may think I have the perfect family because we have a decent amount of money. Actually we have a lot. But thats unimportant because everything is tainted. My dad is a horrible person and my mother just takes it." Jenny could sense the anger in Alex's voice and now understood why she didn't want to leave Daniel behind and was as reserved as she was. She continued to listen. "No matter how many times I've told my mom `Lets just leave!' She says she could never do that and all it would do is bring on horrible things. When in reality she's just scared and stupid! She says its not just as easy as getting up and leaving, that there's more to it when there really isn't. How can she love that man? Why can I only see the horribleness in him. What a dumb bitch my mom is." Jenny was up on her side and watch Alex as she spoke those words. She could see the hurt in her eyes and could feel the anger radiating off of her. She contemplated whether or not she could hug her but as she thought Alex turned into her and buried her face into Jenny. It took her by surprise but all she did was wrap her arms around her. How could this beautiful creature suffer like this? It's not fair for her to have to deal with this. I wish I could make all of this go away. I love this girl so much. Jenny lied back and let Alex rest her head on her chest as she had her arm wrapped around her and slowly caressed her hair. She wanted to make the pain go away so much. Alex lifted her head up and off of Jenny and looked into her eyes. "I'm sorry you didn't need to hear about this. It's not your problem." Jenny gave her a smile and said in assurance, "Alex, it's okay. I know I've only known you for a day but I'm here for yah okay?" "Thank you Jenny." "No problem." With that said Jenny looked over at the clock and couldn't believe that it was almost 1:00 am. No wonder she was feeling tired. "Heh, yeah I'm tired too. Lets get some sleep." "Yeah, I'll get the lights." Jenny felt a hand on her arm and realized it was Alex. "I've got the lights right here. When I was younger I was too scared to run to my bed in the dark after shutting the lights off. So my dad installed a switch over here. He was good for something." "I'm sure he cares about you Alex. He is your father. Things just happen and people turn out certain ways. I don't doubt he loves you." "I know he loves me some where in there, it's just hard to see it sometimes. Well actually most of the time. In the morning he's okay cause he isn't drunk. It's just at night after a few drinks and they start yelling. It gets pretty bad." "Well then maybe there is hope for your dad. Just need to get him off the drink." "I guess." Jenny settled back in the bed with the light now off and heard Alex speak again. "I know this might be weird but is it okay if I sleep closer to you. Like, um.." Jenny knew the struggle Alex was having to get it out and she in return wanted to be close to her also. "Yeah come here." Jenny opened her arm for her so she could lay on her chest again. Once she knew Alex was settled she began to lightly drag a finger up and down her back. Soon the motion stopped because Jenny fell asleep with her Alex snuggled up close to her. *************************************************************** Alex woke up from the light of the sun which was something very unusual. Then she remembered that she had the curtains open from when she was cleaning. Then it really hit her. She was laying on top of Jenny. She looked up at Jenny and realized she was still asleep. She didn't want to move and wake her up. Looking over at her clock she realized it was only 8:30 in the morning. Snuggling back into Jenny she took in her calming scent of lavender. With that she fell back asleep and had the sweetest dreams she's had in a long time. *THUD* Alex shot up in her bed from the main door slamming. She looked at the clock and noticed it was 10am. Taking a quick second she gathered her thoughts and looked down in her bed and noticed Jenny still sleeping. It must be my dad. He's probably home, though he should've been home hours ago. Maybe he's leaving. That'd be nice. Shit! I bet mom didn't tell him she was gone for the night and he came home looking for her and didn't find her. He probably saw the note and is headed over there. Alex scrambled for the phone in her room and dialed Sheila's number. "Hello?" "Hi, is my mom there?" There was a brief pause and the sound of the phone moving, "Is something wrong sweetie?" "Did you tell dad where you are?" "No I didn't." "Well he just left and he might have gone to look for you." "Oh, he must've seen the electric bill and noticed it was high this month. Okay, thank you sweetie." "No problem mom, is everything okay over there though?" "Yeah, Sheila is doing fine now. Just a little panic attack. Nothing that couldn't have been solved with some Vodka and good food. I guess I'll be home soon though. Take care honey." "Bye mom." Alex hung up the phone and noticed Jenny stirring in her bed next to her. "Well good morning." Jenny rubbed her eyes and looked over to Alex slowly as she propped herself up on her hands. "Um, hey." "Hungry?" "Gimme a few and I will be." Alex nodded and rolled out of her bed. She continued to look at Jenny trying to wake up. The girl was so cute in the morning she couldn't help but smile. "Hey it's a pretty nice day out, we should go outside some." "In a few." Jenny made a few weird noises, "are you always this perky in the morning?" Jenny collapsed back in the bed almost giving up. "Only when I want to be, but seriously we should go outside and do something." "In a few Miss. Antsy pants." Alex got a feeling she never had in a long time, she felt bold. Hopping onto the bed she moved so she was straddling Jenny's stomach. "Okay no more time for being lazy lets go!" "Nooooo!" Jenny reached for a pillow and put it on her face, "Not yet!" Alex thought a second and got off of Jenny. She slid her arms under her back and kneecaps to pick her up. Slightly straining she got her off the bed. "NOOOO!!!!!!!!!" Jenny yelled out. "Stop your fussing! It's late and time to get out of bed lazy girl." Jenny began to laugh and wrapped her arms around Alex's neck. "You're pretty strong." "You're pretty heavy ever think about a diet?" "HEY!" "Just kidding! Jeez, you're almost as light as Daniel!" "Uh, where're we going?" Jenny inquired as they went out her door and down the hallway. "To the top of the stairs and then down the stairs but you get to do that on your own. I'm not carrying your big butt down the stairs." "Aw, not cool!" Alex looked over at Jenny and loved that pout on her face. It went well with her messed up blonde hair. "Wait, we're going outside in pajamas?" "Yeah why not?" "Uh, I guess no reason." "Good. Now the ride is over." Alex let her legs down first and let go of her at the top of the stairs. "Think you can manage?" "Yeah I can. Thanks." Jenny gave her a quick smile and headed down the stairs. As they walked down the stairs Alex was just in a hurry to get them out of the house. She knew that both her parents were going to be home soon and she didn't want Jenny to witness any fighting, but also didn't want to be rude and send her off. She wanted Jenny to be around as long as possible. Being definitely attracted to her she was starting to see her in a different light. Not just as a crazy person who just walked up to her one day in the park, but now as someone she'd want close to her and maybe even kiss and have that special relationship with. Last night on the couch and cuddling up to her while sleeping told her all of this. It felt so natural and wonderful being near her. The glass doors opened and they were in her back yard. "Oh my god, its huge! Check out the swing set!" Jenny ran and sat on the swing. Alex giggled at her sudden excitement and walked over and gently gave her a push. "Heh, thanks for the push." Jenny tilted her head back and gazed into Alex's eyes and gave a huge smile. "No problem, plus I'm use to it. Daniel always wants to be pushed." "Well I think its your turn then." Jenny then hopped off her swing and made Alex sit down. "You don't have to do this!" Alex watched Jenny smile at her which told her that she was just to enjoy it. So she held onto the chains and waited. She felt Jenny press her body against her back as she grabbed the chains and pulled back. Alex panicked at how high she was being brought back. "Oh my god Jenny, let me go!" She took in breath as she suddenly felt herself drop and swoosh forth. It was amazing. She never had the pleasure of letting someone else do the work for her. "I feel like such a little kid." Loving the feeling of Jenny's hands on her back she grinned in excitement. "Not any higher!" Alex exclaimed as Jenny continued to push her against her will. "Stop me please!!!" "Why?" "I'm going too high!" "You sure?" "YES!" "Okay I guess. Jeez." Alex didn't know why she was scared but just didn't want to go any higher. Jenny's hands grabbed the chains and brought her to a stop. Alex jumped off the swing and sat on the ground where she felt safer. "I'm sorry I don't even know why I was scared." Tears started coming out of her eyes and her face reddened. "It's okay Alex." Pulling her knees up to her chest and burying her face in them she was wishing what ever was happening wasn't happening right now. She didn't understand why she felt scared or anything on that swing. Suddenly she felt arms around her. By the smell of lavender she knew it was Jenny. Her strong arms were embracing her. Hugging back she started to feel better and was done crying. Jenny came to the rescue and saved her. She cuddled into her arms and loved the feeling of just having someone wrap their body around her. She loved the feeling of Jenny wrapping her body around her. "Are you sure it was the swing that caused that? There's got to be something more to it right?" Alex looked up at Jenny and saw her green beautiful eyes staring right at her. She felt a rush go over her entire body and felt her face become hotter.. She truly wanted to be with this girl for life. Next thing she knew she felt Jenny hold her face with her soft hands and then felt lush lips brush against hers. Then they were gone as fast as they came. She opened her eyes and noticed Jenny looking at her again and all Alex could do was nod. She felt Jenny's fleshy lips again but this time with more pressure and passion. Alex grabbed onto her shoulders and kissed back with equal passion. For once she felt like she had someone in her world again.. ********************************************************************** Yeah that'd be the end of the 3rd chapter.
